COURSE ETIQUETTE
Please observe the following points of etiquette and ensure your playing partners do the same. If you see others not observing these points, please remind them politely… this need not cause offense.
Replace all divots carefully and firmly
Use the sand/seed mix provided.
Smooth sand in bunkers
Use the rakes provided and not just your feet or club
Repair all pitch marks on the greens with a pitch mark repairer or long tee peg
Keep all bags, trolleys and buggies off tee areas, greens, fringes and approaches
Dispose of all litter in the waste bins provided on the course.
SPEED OF PLAY
It is the responsibility of all players in a group-playing together to ensure the following points are observed:
Your position on the course is behind the game in front and NOT in front of the game behind. If the game behind is being kept waiting and the hole ahead is clear, you must call them through immediately
A 3 ball game should take no longer than 3 hours 40 minutes for 18 holes.
A 4 ball game should take no longer than 4 hours. If it takes longer…… you are too slow
Be ready to play when its your turn, clear the green quickly on completion of a hole and prepare for the next tee shot.
In non medals, pick up if you cannot score
PRIORITY ON THE COURSE
The Captain should be given priority at all times.
The green keepers must be given priority to carry out essential and routine maintenance work
In the absence of special competition rules, priority is given to 2's, 3's and 4's in that order
Single players and games of more than four players have no standing on the course. However, if you are holding up a single player and the course ahead is clear, members are asked to consider either inviting the player to join their game or play through
Players in competitions (medal or match play) have priority over non-competitions
Tee reservation times and rules governing the numbers of players permitted must be strictly observed
When the course is busy, situations can arise which cannot always be legislated for, so be as courteous as possible, treat others as you wish to be treated and most importantly… PLEASE USE YOUR COMMON SENSE!
